Why I Write Suspense
First, I love the freedom the genre offers. I can base my story on headlines adding a dollop of Sci-Fi, as I did with Children of the Sun, let muse run riot, as I did in Unusual Destiny, or use an intriguing avenue of String Theory math, as I did in Paradigm. In my next book, the first in a series of Van Horn & Brown Mysteries, I'll be writing detective stories using my trademark, layered plot lines, to keep you turning pages. And yes, for fans waiting for Children's sequel, that book is on my keyboard as well.

About Diane J. Newton, the author
I have a foot in both the independent and traditional worlds of publishing. I am a founder as well as the contact and publicist for the Authors Guild of WNY, a public service group of authors and small press owners. I am moderator of 'publishing and promoting,' an international Internet group made up of authors, small presses, publicists, editors, agents and others involved in the book biz. A frequent public speaker, I enjoy getting out into my community to raise funds for charitable and civic causes, often through public appearances and book signings. Even though I have two new books just out, two more are on my keyboard. My books have won awards, critical acclaim and 5 star reader reviews.
For those interested in contacting me about any of the above, please write. I love fan mail. dianejnewton@yahoo.com Yes, you can send snail mail too.
